I've umpired softball "unofficially" for the last couple of years. I'm currently signed up to take the free clinic you guys are putting on, but I was wondering how do I go about getting certified so that people will actually take me seriously when I'm umpiring the older softball divisions. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Jennifer,
The Clinics are a great place to not only improve your skills as an umpire, but also to network and find people who can get you certified.  I know of a few softball umpires that will be there who can help you find who to talk to.

Jen:  You can go to the NCOA (High School) website and the GSSA/ASA (fastpitch & slowpitch softball) website for information on joining and getting certified for these 2 organizations.
