Youth Umpires

Gentleman,
     Having recently the pleasure of working two games with league youth umpires, I would like to use this forum to recognize them. The first game I worked was at Buljan park, Tyler was the umpire's name , he did a good job of getting the right position for the call and his mechanics were outstanding. Tuesday 21 April was my second game with a youth umpire, this game was at Golden Sierra in Garden Valley for those of you who don't know where that is look it up like I had to do and enjoy the drive in the foothills. Cole is a senior at Golden Sierra HS which is the field where our game was played, he is a pitcher for the school's varsity team. His ability was just as good as my first partner, and he is  willing to listen and learn.   
 As umpires we must recognize and help as much as we can these up and coming umpires within our community if we are to get better as a whole for we only as good as the least among us. One more thought to keep in mind when we are trying to get more umpires in our ranks is this, one can only advance upward if one has someone ready to take his place. I for one am trying to support these youth umpires whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
