Saturday Scrimmages

I hope you're all ready for Saturday's instruction and scrimmages at Cordova High School. Here's some notes on what to expect.

If you aren't already signed up, it's not too late. This is your best chance to get evaluated by the group. These check-offs are essential to getting you more and better games.

We're very front-loaded this weekend. The morning scrimmage has 11 people signed up, with only 7 at 12:30 and two at 3pm. If you're able to come to the 3pm scrimmage instead of an earlier session, I'd encourage you to switch your times. You'll benefit from a smaller group and get more personal instruction and more time on the field.

Come prepared to do both plate and bases. We'll be swapping people through the positions, so it's important that you have your plate gear and your base pants and shoes.

Arrive a half hour before your time slot. This will give you time to find the group, find out your assignments, and dress appropriately.

The weather should be good, but rain is expected Saturday night. It might start to get chilly late in the day. Bring a jacket.

Adam, Are the only games the

Adam,

Are the only games the 1st year umpires are to attend the Cordova games? I've signed up for a game where there is another umpire, but it's not listed as a '1st year' game. What's the expectations for the 1st year guys?

Also, some equipment I've ordered (internet) may or may not get here in time for the scrimmages. What's the expectation regarding attire for the scrimmages?

Thanks,
Bob
